PDX Picks April 3rd 2008


Thursday 3rd:First Thursday

New to Portland? Want to meet some great new people and find out what's going on in the local arts and culture scene? Need an excuse for a great night out. Join us for First Thursday in the Pearl as we walk round the galleries, exhibitions and shows, drink some coffee and discuss. Thursday 3rd: Ghostland Observatory

Thursday 3rd: IPRC Open House and Bake Off

Celebrate the Independent Publishing Resource Center's 10th Birthday with cake and zines. IPRC. 917 SW Oak. 6-9pm. FREE

Sunday 6th: Ten Tiny Dances

Ten small experimental dance pieces each confined to a tiny four-foot-by-four-foot space. An array of Portland's most talented and innovative choreographers have worked on this show. Clyde Common, 1014 SW Stark, 7:30pm. $18 All Ages. www.tentinydances.org

Monday 7th:
Marjane Satrapi

Iranian author of the Graphic novels Persepolis, Persepolis 2 and the incredibly beautiful animated movie of the same name which focused on her childhood in Iran and experiences as an Iranian ex-pat, Marjane Satrapi presents tonight at Portland Arts and Lectures. Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, 1037 SW Broadway, 7:30pm, $10-26. All ages.
