Karaoke Throwdown

Hey Hey Hello~

This Friday May 2nd at the Gallery Homeland, the PDX film festival is having a Karaoke throwdown night.

What is this you ask?

Well, about a month ago I threw together a funny lil Karaoke video for the song “ You’ve gotta friend”. Gretchen Hogue who curates the PDX Film Festival gathered a handful of local filmmakers to do the same. There is free Pabst all evening for all you poor artist friends of mine. Come along and sing or just come on out and watch some creative videos.

Join us for a brand new PDX Fest event! We have invited a handful of our favorite filmmakers to create homemade karaoke videos to their favorite karaoke songs. Audience members will get to perform songs from this custom made catalog and experience an all-new way of doing Karaoke!

The PDX Film Festival runs April 30-May 4th

There are some great films showing. I’m always a little skeptical going to these events because it’s a real gamble if you’ll end up sitting through a dreadful experimental piece or if you find a real gem. I have an “inside” to the better ones, so if you’re interested let me know and I’ll tell ya which ones to sneak into and which ones to avoid.
