Aug. 21-24: Scriptwriting Workshop with Tim McIntosh

Write Your Movie, Write Your Play!

Scriptwriting is an unrivaled joy—even more so when you know what you're doing. It's a mode of expression that puts you in the driver's seat. Scriptwriting lets you visualize and perform the stories and ideas you feel strongly about. It's an opportunity for you to be an active producer and not just a passive consumer.

Perhaps you aspire to be the next great independent filmmaker. Or maybe you just want to entertain your friends with a clever story. Either way, your script will come to life if you know how to craft a great plot, intriguing characters, and tense conflict.

This class is for screenwriters and playwrights who want to develop their own script or work on a draft-in-progress. In this class we will ...

* Analyze films that work
* Perform gripping dialogue
* Write to "show" not "tell"
* Learn the habits of good writers

During the course of the seminar, participants will write their own five-to-ten minute script. The winning script will be awarded and filmed (at no cost to the student).

This class is intended for beginning screenwriters and playwrights. Classes will be cozy and designed for plenty of interaction with the teacher and other students.
